Piyali Misquitta Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, is the newest addition to our team at Pathfinder Clinic. She completed her B.A. in Psychology from St. Xavier’s College, the  best in Mumbai. She went on to pursue her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University, Churchgate, Mumbai. In addition, Ms. Misquitta has a Post Graduate Diploma in Counseling Psychology - a practicum-based programme offered by the Xavier’s Institute of Counseling Psychology, Mumbai. She has completed certificate courses in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Visual Arts-Based Therapy, which she incorporates in her practice.

In her clinical psychology practice, Ms. Misquitta best works with adults who are dealing with depression, anxiety disorders, conflicts in relationships, or work-related stress. She also uses evidence-based practices like CBT as an essential component of treatment and management of serious psychiatric illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She uses standardized psychometric assessments to obtain relevant information about clients, and plan better therapeutic interventions based on the findings.

Ms. Misquitta has extensive experience in the area of child psychology. She worked for three years as a clinical psychologist at the Centre for Learning Disabilities, B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai. The Centre for Learning Disabilities at Nair Hospital is one of three best centres in Maharashtra which issues certificates for children diagnosed with Learning Disabilities. Ms. Misquitta conducted the psychological assessments for the diagnosis of LD and other disorders affecting academics in children. These include disorders like ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, and behavioural disorders. She also worked as a clinical psychologist in the Child Development Centre at P.D. Hinduja Clinic, Mumbai. There the focus was on assessment and diagnosis of children with developmental delays and symptoms of autism spectrum disorder. Piyali Misquitta brings to Pathfinder Clinic her best experiences of working with a wide range of difficulties children may be facing.
